In 2013, a report by the US Department of Commerce revealed that women are significantly underrepresented in STEM disciplines, holding less than 30% of STEM jobs, despite making up approximately half of the global working population. The project involved the creation of a television show and later a website resource and an outreach program for girls between the ages of 8 and 13, aimed at strengthening their STEM identities.
